The structurte of the project file set for a PalmOS application was discussed in the second seminar.
Each developer can apply for a creator code. That four character code identifies the application and its files in the PalmOS.
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) editror was discussed. Metrowerks's Constructor was used for illustration. GUI can be developped using a text editor or a graphical tool. In the latter case the programmer do not need to worry about speicfying the details of the layout. She just creates and places the elements into the MenuBar or DialogBox. Then a resource file is created together with correspongind header file for the program. The resource file is compiled using a resource compiler. PiLRC is an example of a command line resource compiler that can be used instead of CodeWarrior.
The PalmOS application written in C uses the concept of an event handler. The structure of a simple example was discussed. Several different cases when the application may be run by the OS were discussed. (regular run, alarm mode, search, reset, ...)
