You are responsible for arranging and maintaining a reliable e-mail account at Bradley University and checking your e-mail daily. On campus students must also establish a BlackBoard account. Some class announcements, homework solution tips and homework grades will be posted only on BlackBoard or only distributed by e-mail. Replies to your e-mail, in general, will go to the return address specified in your message. In no case instructor is responsible for not received e-mail due to full mailbox error or your choice of forwarding it to an off-campus location. Bradley University cannot guarantee privacy of email that is by your choice sent or forwarded to an off-campus location.
In general, mailboxes have certain maximum capacity that can be reached easily if you do not download your messages off the server. In no case instructor is responsible for you not receiving e-mail due to full mailbox error.
There will be about 13 assignments or small projects. Each assignment may consist of up to one or two programs to write. Assignments will be posted on the course web site and mentioned in the class. Usually they will be due by e- mail on Wednesdays by 11:59pm. Keep your homework and a copy of the sent email in your mailbox until the grade is posted. Keep the received back email with grade until the end of the semester. To avoid delays follow the advised subject line and do not use that subject for asking questions.
Late submission: submitted later than at 11:59pm the day it is due will be penalized 10% per each started day until 50% is reached. Late submission penalty may be waived for homework received before instructor starts grading the particular assignment; no credit if submitted after the corresponding exam or after the last day of lectures, or if a sample solution is posted.
Final project may be in a form of an individualized homework with a demo. Remote students may merge the final project with homework assignments.
There will be three in class exams given during the semester. All exams will include material you are responsible for learning in class, from textbooks, WWW reading and from the homework assignments. This class has a final project instead of the final exam.

Your final grade: A, B, C, D and F will be determined by your total amount of points earned during the course using: 90%, 80%, 70% and 60% limits. Improvement in work and submission of all homework assignments will be used to determine the borderline cases. Students registered for some sections may be able to check progress in building their grade on-line using GradeWatch at any time.
