EE-WEB Assignment 1

Web page 1, 10pts.

Create a so called splash web page. The page should display some kind of greeting to the web surfer, and then transfer him or her to another page of your own choice. In addition the page should not leave people with older web browser incapable of executing whatever you do to go to the next page helpless.

Please note that It is not always a good idea to have a splash page for every Web site. Do consider this page as an exercise and not as a suggested way of design.

Web page 2, 10pts.

Create a web page for your weekly schedule. Utilize hidden tables for the graphical layout. To show your proficiency use either at least two embeded tables or create one table with either COLSPAN or ROWSPAN. Do not use frames. The page should have additional support for some search engines (Alta Vista) in the form of ABSTRACT and DESCRIPTION meta tags.

You may use special web page editors for the task. Just make sure that all necessary HTML elements are present and use correctly. (Some editors do create errorous pages.) To get maximum credit your schedule Web page has to pass a HTML validation test. For this assignment this validation tool will be used.
