How to get a C++ Compiler from MSDNAA for EE102 and EE221
What to Download
-
- Choice 1 – Least hard drive space – Good enough both for EE102 and EE221, saves hard drive space!!!
- Download Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition
- If you get multiple files run setup.exe. Burn all files to a CDR for later just in case you needed to reinstall it.
- If you get one file with .ISO extension burn it to a CDR using Easy CD Creator or Nero Burner, or ImgBurn (ImgBurn is free), or any other software that would know what to do with *.ISO files. Then install from CDR.
- Choice 2 – Latest Software from DVD
- Download Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition DVD
- Burn it to a DVD recordable using Easy CD Creator or Nero Burner, or ImgBurn (ImgBurn is free), or any other software that would know what to do with *.ISO files. Then install from DVD.
- Do not install MSDN Library – this is help for mostly advanced users, not very useful for beginners
- Choice 3 – Relatively new version directly from Hard Drive
- Download Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2005 Professional – Full Install
This is the latest C++ (and other languages) compiler. All CDs are packed together into about 2GB file. You can install it from the folder on your hard drive after it is downloaded and unpacked by the loader program. Run setup.exe or such. Burn all files to a DVD recordable for later just in case you needed to reinstall it.
- Do not install MSDN Library – this is help for mostly advanced users, not very useful for beginners.
- Choice 4 – Relatively new version from CDRs
- Download Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition CD1
- Download Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition CD2
- Burn each to a CDR using Easy CD Creator or Nero Burner, or ImgBurn (ImgBurn is free), or any other software that would know what to do with *.ISO files. Then install from CDRs.
- Do not install MSDN Library – this is help for mostly advanced users, not very useful for beginners.
OK, I have read it. Now I want to go back to the main instruction page or directly to the MSDNAA front page.
